Mead Orchards Hosts Annual Training Day

On 5/16/26, Mead Orchards held its Annual Training Day, officially kicking off another season of farm-ready teamwork, fresh energy and just the right amount of orchard-ized chaos.

The day was led by Orchard Manager Steve and our ever-essential “apple-icionado,” Sharon.

The event brought together the full Mead team (both office and agricultural staff) along with a few visiting dignitaries, including orchard owners Scott and Caitlin, former owner Chuck Mead and beekeeper Ray Tousey of Germantown fame, who supplies Mead’s beloved honey and, as always, brought a little extra buzz to the day. 🐝

A key focus of the training was welcoming and preparing more than 15 new and returning part-time Farmers Market and Pick-Your-Own Associates - the seasonal team members who help bring the orchard experience to life each year.

Mead Orchards’ approach is simple but intentional: invest in training and education so every team member understands not only their role, but also the bigger picture. That includes customer service expectations, day-to-day operations and a deeper understanding of the farm itself - from its products to its management practices.

Because at Mead Orchards, from blossom to bushel, we care deeply about both our customers and our staff. 🍎
